General Information
- Classification - 11th edition — Single class filing
- Search - Possible for word and device marks
- Examination - Formality, substantive and relative grounds
- Opposition period - 60 days from publication date
- Extension of time - Not possible for filing oppositions, counter oppositions, and responding to office actions
- Term of protection - 10 years from filing date and renewable for like periods
- Use - Not mandatory, but non-use exposes the mark to cancellation actions interested parties

Merger

- Annuities - Paid annually on the anniversary of the international filing date and payable after grant. A grace period of 6 months is allowed for late payment with an extra charge

- A notarized Power of Attorney (If the applicant is Bahraini Nationality or resident) /A Power of Attorney duly legalized by Apostille OR the Bahraini Consulate (If the applicant nonresident).
- A Deed of Assignment from the inventor(s) duly legalized by Apostille OR the Bahraini Consulate (notarized for resident).
- An Extract from the applicant’s entry on the Commercial Register or Articles of Incorporation.
- The priority document. If the said document is in a language other than English, an English and a certified Arabic translation of the same must be provided thereof.
- Specification, abstract, claims and drawings in English, together with a certified Arabic translation.
- Certificate of Deposit of microorganism culture if the application is related to microorganisms.
- Documents indicating that the inventor got the genetic resource or traditional knowledge legally (if the application is related to genetic resources or traditional knowledge).
- PCT Patent Application -

- A certified copy of the priority document. If the said document is in a language other than English, an English translation of the same must be provided thereof, together with an Arabic translation.
- Three representations of the design.
